Mission Vision

"The aim is to burn through to first thoughts, to the place where energy is unobstructed by social politeness or the internal censor, to the place where you are writing what your mind actually sees and feels, not what it thinks it should see or feel."--Natalie Goldberg, Writing Down the Bones

With Freewriting Adventures (FWA), young aspiring writers will learn how to reconnect with first thoughts. We want to free your mind from what causes writer's block--the negative mind chatter telling you, Don't write that, that's stupid/boring/not good enough. Silence those insecurities, banish those doubts, so that you can finally write wild--write free.

Inspired by the discussions on writing and creativity by Natalie Goldberg (Writing Down the Bones and Wild Mind) and Julia Cameron (The Artist's Way), Freewriting Adventures will take the traditional writing lessons out of the classrooms.

You'll be soaking in inspiration from Manila parks, busy streets, and other interesting spots. At each location, there will be a writing challenge that will enable you to hone your craft.

Building courage is an equally important component to Freewriting Adventures. Thus, we will share our on-the-spot creations with each other, and the group will respond by highlighting the writer's strengths as opposed to weaknesses.

When you get used to sharing your written work with others, you'll become more confident with your own voice and your own thoughts.

Dare to lose control. Be brave. Write wild, write true, write free!
